The above blog title is inspired by Saul Bass's "Psycho" title opening.

Location, Location, Location

The Financial District in london is filled with plenty of huge modern financial skyscrapers. Canada Square is home to Canary Wharf (the above image on the right). It would be a perfect location for us to get some good shots that represent London's economy and the power that money holds. We don't want to limit ourselves to just this area of london as there are places all over central london brimming with these kind of buildings.

Location ShotsWe have visited are location to take photos and get a rough idea of how are shots will pan out. Also to see what will work and how we can push the loaction further to get the best footage, we will build up a photo storyboard so that it's easier to chop and change the order of shots. Below are some photos taken on location, all these are possible places and things we can film.

Genre Problems

Unfortunately the exam board question states "Fiction" title sequences so that means we will have to turn the film into more of a fiction film approach possibly a drama or something. This is not too much or a big problem to the title sequence though as the theme will still be credit crunch and can still include news fottage mixed with our own maybe abit of animation and so on.

This is the opening to Zack Synders remake of "Dawn of the Dead".
After 0:40 in the video when Johnny Cash's "when the man comes around" the news footage is the kind of look we want. Obviously different theme of footage but the whole mix of news and our own.

Initial Ideas

Our group recently discussed through what kind of genre our film title sequence would be and threw out some initial ideas into the "pot" (the pot of ideas o00ohh). After discussing ideas for different genres and thinking up some basic narratives for them we all agreed on makeing a "Documentry" film based around the recent credit crunch, how it's changed economy previous depressions in england and so on (your general documentary ideas).
We have decided on creating a documentary type film title sequence as it will give us a good oppourtunity to blend found footage with out own and also we have not heard of anyone doing this genre for their title sequence so would like to produce something fresh and different.(click to see in full)
The above is a quick brainstorm we did for some
begining ideas and bringing them into the "pot".
( we wish to create another brainstorm more
in depth on a later date after further discussion).
